“Why do you say this JM?” you may be asking yourself right now…
Well, today was one of those days. Right now I’m sitting on my bed with one contact in because the other eye is infected with the dredded PINK EYE ! It’s very annoying… and painful!
I woke up this morning with a plan to do absolutely nothing, but I ended up in Lifetime Fitness running on a tredmill and riding an exercise bike. Now, you may think that it can’t be too bad exercising…. But it’s one thing to wake up and plan on doing physical activity rather than have a 3 year old munchkin BUST into your room and tell you that, “you have 2 minutes to get downstairs because we’re going to the gym!”
But working out did divert my attention from the pain in my eye to the new found pain in my chest and legs. So, that’s a plus! Then I got into it with my Dad about using his grooming products. Now, there has NEVER been an issue with me using his things. He always encouraged me to take care of myself and groom myself. But this time there was an issue because his clippers were put back dirty!! I did NOT put them back dirty! I made sure I put them back clean because when I borrowed them they were dirty. There is much more to this story, that includes Mom chiming in, but it’s definitly not worth typing. (If you know what I mean)
But this evening was great! I spent it with family and friends. I think that is the best way to spend any holiday! As we ate chicken (as black people often do), ribs, greens (another common black dish), and cold slaw we made sure we remembered the fallen soldiers of America and the ultimate sacrifice they made for all of us. On top of all that I got to see my best friend in the WHOLE world!!!! That was great!
