160_barack-obama-pres-bushPresident George Walker Bush will give his farewell address to the nation tonight at 8pm. There are so many people who are glad to see him go. The unfortunate thing about his leaving is that he will be remembered as one of the worst President’s in American history….

Personally, I feel a little bad for President Bush. Yes, he did make a major mistake in taking the nation to war in Iraq. I was one of the few that said it was a bad idea. But his entire eight years in office will be mocked and joked about for the rest of his life. Not only his political positions, but his character as a man will be tested. That part is unacceptable. No matter who you are, I believe, there is no reason to attack the character of President Bush. (Yes, I said it. I supported Bush in defense of his character)

I do not support his policies and the direction in which he took this country, but I do believe that when he made these decisions, that effected the country, he had the best interests of this country in mind. I honestly believe that he thought he was doing the right thing. But once things began to get out of hand he did not know how to respond effectively, without confining himself to one direction or one frame of mind. What President Bush failed to do, in his eight years in office, was establish a way to tell the American people what his plans were without  seeming close- minded or confining himself to one direction. That one failed concept led him and this country down a horrible path that ultimately defines his Presidency.

Now, with Barack Obama, he has a way of telling the people exactly what his plans and intentions are without telling them what he is going to do UNTIL THE TIME IS RIGHT. What was so amazing and noteworthy about his campaign was the fact that they were able to keep a secret. No one found out any information about the Obama campaign until Barack Obama or David Axelrod wanted them to know. Obama has brought that into the white house. People complain that there are not enough specifics when it comes to how his economic plan is going to be applied to the economy. But what people fail to realize, sometimes, is that noting can be done until all elements are, at least, taken into consideration. And that can’t be done until he takes office.

So, good- bye President Bush! Your press conferences and personality will definitely be missed!
